Most people nowadays, have only heard about God, they are yet to really encountered Him.

The Bible says:

'for all have sinned (done bad things), and fall short of the glory of God;' (Romans 3:23)
So, being a 'really good girl or boy ? and doing much good can't spare you and I from the severe penalty of the sinnful thoughts, behavior and attitudes, just Jesus can. If all we do during life is to be a very good man or woman and maybe even going to church, that will not spare any person and won't permit anyone to experience heaven. Meaning, going away to hell, also called unending torment:

'For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.' (Romans 6:23)

No, it is not doing good that saves people, we have to apologise for all of the sinnful behaviour we did, and give our lives for God Most High. I shall explain this further shortly.

Because of this I find that being at funerals of a non-Christian troubles me intensely. This is also why my highest priority in this life is sharing with people about who the Creator God really is. To enlighten others who never attend church, and more than that, to others who actually do attend church but still are yet to properly comprehended the real truths. I fast two days a week, and I give you one tenth of all my income.' And the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes towards heaven; but struck his breast, saying: O god, be merciful to me a sinner.
I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other, because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.?' (Luke 18:9-14)

The Teacher of the law in this parable is not committing the presumed ?really bad' wrongdoings like child abuse, as we say, but he did not receive forgiveness by God.
Yet, the tax collector commits ?really bad' evils yet was forgiven by God, for the reason that he rightly apologised.
It is a humbling action to declare we are and have been, wrong and to surrender our existence utterly to the Creator God. However, devoid of it we will not be rescued from our sins, we have to come to Sovereign God submissive and helpless. Jesus said :

'He called a small child and had him stand among them. and said, ?Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.' (Matthew 18:2-3)

'But sanctify the Lord God in your own hearts, and always be prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and reverence.' (1Peter 3:15)

In summary: the Creator God will become your managing director. For life. And as the Bible instructs, we live for God, studies in the Bible, in? prayer day by day, sharing with others who God is, and assisting anyone when guided to. God Most High, becomes our goal and crusade for all of our life.
